Badges Members

PPE badge on one of our standard SAS desert smocks.

Once a new crewmember completes an expedition with us they receive their PPE badge. It is a token that they have done something extraordinary and are now part of a new close-nit crew of friends and fellow adventurers. Beyond the prestige though badged members have advantages within PPE and in joining future expeditions.

PPE members are a diverse group of adventurers

Veterans

Our badged members come from a wide cross-section of society; it includes men and women, retirees and those with active careers and from countries across the globe. We do tend to attract quite a few veterans. One of the things all veterans miss is the camaraderie and feeling of belonging that comes with sharing the challenges and hardship of a PPE expedition. It also means they are in a group who the can let their guard down around the camp fire at night and talk with those who have been there and done that. We like to think we provide a safe space to just be themselves for a while with no expectations.

Non-Veterans

PPE members are equally represented by non-veterans. Many have an interest in military history or are just seeking adventures. Many are those that have led normal lives and have reached a point where they are asking themselves if there are any new adventures still to have? We often find these members are just as invested in the comradeship and sense of being part of a team with shared experiences. Evenings around the campfire are as much for them as for our veteran members.
