The Sand Sea Challenge

Tunisia April 2027

CAT 1 Only (space limited)

In the spring of 2027 PPE is going to take on the challenge it has so far missed: navigating the interior of the Grand Erg Orientale sand sea. This will be one of the most difficult trips we will undertake and spaces will be limited. We are also going to have strict limits of the type of vehicle allowed with a preference for short-wheelbase, light trucks carrying a minimum of gear. The plan is to circumnavigate the interior of the sand sea proving routes between major features, all while covering some of the most challenging sand in the Sahara.

Western Libya Recce

Libya November 2027

CAT 2 (possibly some CAT 1 trucks)

Libya holds a special place in the hearts of both desert travelers and WWII history buffs. Based on the expert knowledge and recent experience of Desartica in western Libya, if conditions remain safe and stable, PPE will be conducting a first recce of the deep Libyan desert. This expedition will be for those with a true sense of adventure (and possibly a touch of madness). More info available in early 2027.

Rekkam Plateau Exploration

Morocco October 2027

CAT 1 and 2

The Rekkam Plateau dominates the south eastern corner of Morocco and is a place that is on few overland itineraries. Yet it holds some amazing and challenging landscapes, history and challenges. This will trip will be ideal for heavier, long wheelbase vehicles since there is sand, but no major dune fields to cross.
